Liverpool returned to Premier League action with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

A first-half brace from Sadio Mané cancelled out an early strike from Jetro Willems, before Mo Salah added a third in the second half.

The Reds started the game much slower than Jurgen Klopp would have likely, most likely due to an early season international break.

However, even after an impressive strike from Willems in the early stages, Liverpool grew into the game and managed to break down a resilient Newcastle United defence.

Klopp had made two changes from the last league game against Burnley, bringing in Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Roberto Firimino and Jordan Henderson.

However, with Origi picking up an injury half way through the first half, Firmino was called on much earlier than expected.

With five wins from five in the league, Liverpool sit top of the table with 15 points.

Below, we highlight three Liverpool players who starred in Saturday’s win over Newcastle.
