Georginio Wijnaldum missed training with the Duch national team due to an illness, according to Netherlands’ manager Ronald Koeman.

Speaking at his press conference, Koeman revealed that Wijnaldum had been under the weather and as such, he was kept away from his teammates and was allowed to rest.

Wijnaldum, who turned 29-years-old just a few days ago, has been a vital member of the Dutch national side in recent games and has been a regular goalscorer for them as he has been played in a more attacking role than he is used to playing at Liverpool. Therefore, Koeman will be keen to get the midfielder back as soon as possible as he prepares his team for the upcoming games with Northern Ireland and Estonia.

If Wijnaldum was feeling under the weather during the Man City game, then he did very well to hide it as he put in an excellent performance!

Hopefully, for Gini, he’ll be back feeling better sooner rather than later and he’ll be hoping to continue his recent run of good form for his national team.
