Jurgen Klopp should take charge of Liverpool’s FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury Town, according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Reds boss has found himself in the headlines in recent days, having decided to hand over matchday duties to Neil Critchley in the return fixture with Shrewsbury.

The two sides meet at Anfield on February 4th, which falls in the middle of Liverpool’s winter break.

Klopp and all of his senior stars will avoid the match, keeping to their schedule in the process.

Taking to Twitter, Carragher provided his thoughts, saying he thinks Klopp should be in charge, before joking about a swift return to his holiday:

I don’t actually agree with Carragher, with Klopp within his right to do what he wants.

This is the FA’s fault for scheduling the match during the winter break, in my opinion.

Of course, Klopp could manage the team if he really wanted to, but I believe there is a stubbornness to him that doesn’t want the FA to get their own way.

This will hopefully be a lesson for the FA moving forward, with Klopp making a point more than anything.

Is Klopp right to hand over FA Cup duties to Critchley?

Yes, blame the FA

No, it's disrespectful
