Liverpool fans love Babel’s hilarious Europa League antics
Ryan Babel was a popular figure during his time at Liverpool, scoring 22 goals in 146 appearances.
Although not always the most consistent player, he had an eye for the spectacular and scored the winning goal against Manchester United in 2008/09 – something that will endear any Reds player to the supporters.
The Dutchman departed Anfield back in 2011, going on to enjoy spells at the likes of Hoffenheim, Ajax and Deportivo La Coruna.
Babel is currently on loan at Ajax and he was involved in the Dutch side’s 2-0 defeat away to Getafe in the Europa League on Thursday night.
It was a disappointing evening for Babel and his teammates, but one moment involving the 33-year-old was arguably the highlight of the night in the Europa League.
Getafe man Allan Nyom rolled around on the floor making the most of an injury, with the Dutchman subsequently doing the same as a way of mocking him, also feigning a limp from the field:
