Jurgen Klopp holds talks with Jadon Sancho
Jurgen Klopp has held talks with Jadon Sancho about a possible transfer, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent.
Manchester United were seen as the front-runners to sign the England international but it looks like Liverpool might now be ready to make a move to take the winger from Borussia Dortmund to Anfield.
If the England superstar does join The Reds, you can expect him to be a popular player to have on the Football Index Review.
Sancho wants to sign for a club playing Champions League football, which is seemingly why a move to United has not yet been completed as he has waited to see if Ole Gunner Solsjkaer will guide the Red Devils to a top-four finish, although fifth-place in the league table could be enough to secure a place in the Champions League if Manchester City’s European ban is upheld.
The main worry for Liverpool in the chase for Sancho would be the financial side of the deal. United will, according to Delaney, be able to offer the player a better salary and potentially offer a bigger fee to Dortmund too.
Furthermore, the Reds may not actually have the funds to complete the deal straight away and may look to do a similar deal that they did with Naby Keita, where they agreed to sign the player a year in advance.

With the news that Timo Werner is set to join Chelsea, Liverpool were criticised by some for not moving for the German star.
Most, if not all of that criticism, would likely disappear if they were able to complete a deal for Sancho, given his standing in the game.
Not only would Liverpool be getting a player of immense quality, they’d also be stopping him making a move to Man United, which would be an added bonus for the club’s supporters.
Finances around transfers are often complex though, and that will be the case more than ever this summer given the impact that the pandemic has had, and will have, on football.
However, if Liverpool can make the numbers work, Sancho would be a brilliant addition to Klopp’s squad.
