Last month, it was reported that both Liverpool and Tottenham had made bids to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen.

Whilst talk about the Nigerian star moving to the Premier League has seemingly died down over the last few weeks, there had been some reports in Italy which suggested that the 21-year-old had agreed to join Serie A side Napoli.

However, speaking to Omasports, the forward vigorously denied the claims that he’d agreed to join Gli Azzurri (The Blues), this summer.

He said:

The news relating to my agreement with Napoli is false. I am surprised by these journalists who claim to be professionals. Ignore this fake news on my account, when there is an agreement for my transfer you will know it directly from me.

It still remains unclear as to whether or not Osimhen is a target for The Reds this summer but if he is, it looks like he’s still available.

The 21-year-old was in good form for Lille before the early curtailment of the French league, so it’s no surprise to see that there are teams interested in him.

However, given that Liverpool reportedly pulled out of a deal to sign Timo Werner due to financial issues, it seems unlikely that they’ll make a move for Osimhen this summer.
