Liverpool are one of at least three Premier League clubs who have shown an interest in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, according to Ryan Gray for the Watford Observer.
Following the Hornets’ relegation on the final day of the season, it seems that the Premier League champions, along with Wolves and Crystal Palace, are set to test their ability to keep hold of their Senegalese star.
The report states that no bid has formally been registered, although all three clubs have enquired about the availability of the 22-year-old.
Jurgen Klopp and Reds fans alike will have recent memories of Sarr’s capabilities as he was the champions’ main nemesis when Watford stunned Klopp’s side, bringing to an end their aspirations of an unbeaten league season with a 3-0 victory in February.

Sarr’s two goals and assists on that night aside, last season was an inconsistent first campaign in English football for the former Rennes winger. However, he has shown his ability at times in a struggling Watford side and has perhaps done enough to warrant a continued spell in the top flight next season.
In Sadio Mane, the Reds have the perfect man to help smooth over any deal. After the match between the two clubs at Anfield, Liverpool’s own Senegalese star told the Watford captain Troy Deeney to look after his boy, whilst talking with his countryman.
Sarr has been capped with his national side on 28 occasions, scoring five goals and has impressed at each level he has played. Perhaps after a taste of Premier League football, the time might be right to take another step forward in his young career.
As the champions look to strengthen for next season’s title defence, a signing of somebody with the potential of Sarr could help provide excellent cover for the likes of Mane and Mohamed Salah.
