Liverpool have held talks with Sheffield United and Crystal Palace over a possible transfer of Rhian Brewster, according to Sky Sports.

The Reds are believed to be weighing up the options regarding the 20-year-old this summer, with multiple clubs interested in the striker.

Brewster was not part of Jurgen Klopp’s matchday squad as the Premier League champions kicked off the new season with a 4-3 victory over Leeds United.

Now the immediate future of the youngster has come into question once more, as Liverpool give serious consideration over what may be best for his development and for the club as a whole.

Whilst everyone at Anfield knows the potential of Brewster having watched him come through the ranks, scoring plenty of goals along the way, the likelihood of the England Under-21 international getting the game time he needs remains slim.

Both Sheff United and Palace have retained their interest in signing Brewster, with the Yorkshire side believed to have outlined a detailed development plan for the future star.

Whilst a season-long loan seems the most likely outcome, there have been talks of a permanent departure – although any such deal is likely to come with a buy-back clause as the Reds look to protect the future of a player they have nurtured through the ranks.
