The summer transfer window is just around the corner and rumours are hotting up.

Liverpool have already found themselves linked with an abundance of talent across Europe.

The likes of Houssem Aouar, Rodrigo De Paul, Yves Bissouma, and Ibrahima Konate have already been mentioned.

However, the rumours haven’t stopped there according to Italian news outlet Leggo.

As cited by Paisley Gates, Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan duo Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni.

With Georginio Wijnaldum set to leave the club in the summer, they will need to find a replacement.

Barella would be a great option as a replacement for the Dutchman given their similarities in position.

As well as the options in midfield, the Reds struggled defensively this season with a lack of options due to injuries.

Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies were signed in January to fill the void for the remainder of the season.

Bastoni has been mightily impressive for Inter this season, helping them to their first Scudetto in 11 years.

Despite Liverpool reportedly close to securing RB Leipzig’s Konaté, Bastoni could still be a viable option.

The Italian duo would cost a pretty penny, however, with them both valued at £103.5m according to Transfermarkt.

If Liverpool were to try and bring the pair to Anfield they would no doubt need to break the bank a bit.

Although sales of some of the clubs fringe players would aid those funds, it is still a pricey duo to pay out for.

Time will tell what happens in the upcoming window, but there is no doubt we shall see some new faces at Anfield this summer.
