Liverpool lost Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum at the start of the month, with his contract running down.

The 30-year-old failed to reach an agreement with the club over an extension, with him leaving as a free agent.

This led to Wijnaldum reaching an agreement with French giants Paris Saint-Germain after almost joining Barcelona.

However, his departure has now left the Reds with the painful task of replacing him this summer, with plenty of options mooted.

The likes of Youri Tielemans, Houssem Aouar, Florian Neuhaus, Saúl Ñíguez, and Yves Bissouma have been linked.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the club have a three-man shortlist, with Bissouma included…

As cited by The Anfield Talk above, the club reportedly have a shortlist of three names for this summer.

Unluckily for Liverpool fans, the Italian does not elude to which players are on the proposed list.

There could easily be some reliability in some of the above names, however, with some making realistic targets.

Neuhaus is one midfielder that has been extensively linked with the club over the last few weeks.

Not only this, but Tielemans has even been questioned over the rumours whilst on duty for Belgium this month.

The 24-year-old stated he is focusing on Euro 2020 this month before even addressing his possible future.

Whoever the club do sign this summer, there is no doubt that Jurgen Klopp will make the right singing.
