Liverpool have had a poor season this time around compared to their previous standards.

The Reds went into this season and Premier League champions, attempting to retain their title.

Poor form and plenty of injuries has seen Liverpool fail to do so, but they still find themselves in a race for top four.

Tonight sees the Reds go into action against second place Manchester United, with three points a must.

Former Liverpool midfielder, Jamie Redknapp, has high hopes for the club despite their overall record.

Speaking on Sky Sports, as cited by Leicester Mercury, Redknapp believes that if Liverpool beat United tonight, they can easily finish in the top four…

“If Liverpool win (against Man United), it might even make them favourites to sneak into one of the top four spots… Liverpool have got such a big game. If they can get three points, you start to believe that they can actually do it.”

It is understandable for Redknapp to believe that Liverpool could still finish in the top four.

As it stands, Liverpool are sat on 57 points with two games in hand over fourth place Chelsea.

If the Reds can beat United tonight and then beat West Brom, they will be just one point off of the Blues.

This also comes with the fact that Chelsea have third place Leicester up next – a tough fixture for both.

Liverpool have a fantastic chance to claim a top four spot if they can beat Manchester United.

Following tonight’s game, Liverpool have just West Brom, Burnley, and Crystal Palace left to face.

These next four games are massive for the club, and will define this season as a whole if Klopp’s men can claim a top four spot.
