# Adrian tipped to make surprise exit from Liverpool this summer

Adrian has been tipped to leave Liverpool in the summer, following just one season at the club.

The Spaniard joined the Reds last summer, coming in as a deputy to Alisson.

It has been an up-and-down campaign for Adrian, who starred in the [UEFA Super Cup win](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H51EF1oTn4o) over Chelsea, but also had a [nightmare evening against Atletico Madrid](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51800660) in the Champions League.

Speaking on [Sky](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/premier-league/11957900/liverpool-need-a-better-back-up-gk)[Sp](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/premier-league/11957900/liverpool-need-a-better-back-up-gk)[orts](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/premier-league/11957900/liverpool-need-a-better-back-up-gk)‘ Sunday Supplement (15/03/20), with quotes provided by [This Is Anfield](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/03/liverpool-journalist-pretty-sure-adrian-will-replaced-in-next-transfer-window/), the Mirror’s David Maddock revealed that he believes Adrian will move on.

> I think you’ll find Liverpool will, whenever they do go out and sign players—if it’s this summer \[or not\]—they’ll go out and sign a ‘keeper, I’m pretty sure about that.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

I think news of Adrian’s potential exit is a surprise, even though he hasn’t always covered himself in glory this season.

Finding a genuinely top class second-choice goalkeeper is very difficult, and only [injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alisson/verletzungen/spieler/105470) to Alisson have put the 33-year-old under the spotlight more.

While Adrian is a long way from being perfect, I don’t necessarily think Liverpool could find a superior alternative, or be able to risk giving Caoimhin Kelleher or Kamil Grabara a chance.

It may be that Adrian wants a fresh challenge, which is more than understandable when game time is so hard to come by, but despite his Atletico disaster, I believe selling him could be a knee-jerk reaction.
