# Alexander-Arnold will go right ‘to the top’, claims Klopp

Jurgen Klopp believes only injuries can prevent Trent Alexander-Arnold from going right ‘to the top’.

The 21-year-old has become an influential figure for Liverpool in the last couple of seasons, shining for the Reds at right-back.

[Speaking](https://twitter.com/TheRedmenTV/status/1218166310133288965?s=20) in his pre-Manchester United press conference on Friday afternoon, Klopp tipped the boyhood Liverpool fan to have a wonderful career:

> The games, the experience and his teammates will make Trent better. Apart from injuries, I cannot see anything from stopping him going to the top.

> When you are a talented footballer and have an outstanding attitude it is pretty likely that you will have a proper career.

I firmly believe Alexander-Arnold the most exciting player to emerge at Liverpool since Steven Gerrard.

Blessed with [outrageous technical ability](https://twitter.com/SamueILFC/status/1212904209793896449?s=20), no player in the Premier League has registered more [assists](https://twitter.com/lfc_allting/status/1212859996310056960?s=20) (20) since the beginning of last season.

He has effectively taken on the role of Liverpool’s playmaker from right-back, which is remarkable.

I think Alexander-Arnold is already the world’s best right-back – he can still improve defensively, though – but he can go on to be one of the outstanding players of his generation.

As Klopp alludes to, I believe only a serious injury will stop that from happening, with everything in place for him to keep thriving at Anfield.
