# Alisson reveals he is “nearly” back in action – his return is vital

Alisson has been missing since the opening night of the Premier League season and his imminent return will be priceless.

The Brazilian limped off in the 4-1 win over Norwich City on August 9th and hasn’t been available since.

Speaking to [LiverpoolFC.com](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/365946-alisson-becker-injury-recovery-adrian-kelleher-interview), however, the Brazilian says he is nearing a return, with the trip to Manchester United on October 20th a possible match for him to aim for:

> I’m on a good way, I think we are nearly there.

> I can go outside to the pitch to do some goalkeeper work and I feel very well. I feel confident and I think now it’s just about getting all my power, all my confidence to come back and do what I love to do.

> It’s massive because if I look back, two weeks ago I couldn’t even walk properly. Now I’m running, jumping on my right leg that was injured so I’m really happy for that.

Liverpool have actually fared superbly without Alisson, winning all six of their league games and also clinching UEFA Super Cup glory.

Adrian has performed admirably between the sticks, growing with each game and filling an enormous void.

Despite this, Alisson’s return will be massive, considering he is arguably the world’s best goalkeeper.

The Reds haven’t looked quite as assured without him around, only keeping one clean-sheet in the league, and he carries such an aura behind the defence.

It may take some time for him to return to his very best, but his latest injury update is a huge positive.
