# Almeida dreaming of move to Liverpool – an ideal signing?

Benfica defender Andre Almeida has claimed that he would like to sign for Liverpool or Manchester United as he dreams of a move to the Premier League.

The right-back claims that he likes Real Madrid and Barcelona, but would prefer a transfer to Liverpool over joining either of the Spanish giants.

[As quoted by The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/portugal-star-opens-up-man-19914492) Almeida said this:

> I always had the dream of going to the Premier League.

> I really like Liverpool and Manchester United for their history.

> I also like [Real Madrid](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/real-madrid-cf) and [Barcelona](https://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/fc-barcelona) , but I prefer the Premier League.

> I would not have the ability to play all the starting games.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Almeida has admitted himself that he does not possess the quality to be a regular starter in a team like Liverpool, which makes him the perfect candidate to be a squad option at Anfield.

With Nathaniel Clyne’s injury problems, Almeida could be the ideal choice to come in and support Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Portuguese defender could play in the League Cup and FA Cup games, as well as filling in for Alexander-Arnold if he is ever unfit or suspended.

However, it must be stressed that this is all coming from Almeida’s side and Liverpool have not been linked with an official move for the defender as of this moment in time.
