# Arsenal fans believe they will sign Partey ahead of Liverpool

A number of Arsenal supporters believe they will beat Liverpool to the signing of Thomas Partey at the end of the season.

The midfielder was [exceptional](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1435987/Live/Europe-Champions-League-2019-2020-Liverpool-Atletico-Madrid) for Atletico Madrid over two legs in the Champions League last 16, helping the La Liga giants progress past the Reds last week.

Good on the ball and as strong as an ox, Partey is a formidable presence in the middle of the park, and it is no surprise to see big clubs interesting in signing him.

Partey has been [linked](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/karius-cited-as-liverpool-pulled-out-thomas-partey-transfer) with a move to Liverpool, but Arsenal are also considered among the [candidates](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/03/12/arsenal-eye-summer-move-atletico-madrid-midfielder-thomas-partey/) to snap him up.

On Wednesday, the 26-year-old returned to Twitter after a break from the social media website.

The Atletico star was inundated with messages from various sets of fans, but those of an Arsenal persuasion seemed particularly vocal.

These Gunners supporters believe a move to the Emirates is on the cards this summer, hoping that he snubs a switch to Liverpool.
