# Asensio “tempted” by Liverpool switch

Marco Asensio is reportedly tempted by a switch to Liverpool, amid reports Real Madrid do not want to sell the midfielder.

Asensio could be set to leave Madrid, with a lack of game time frustrating the Spaniard. The midfielder is currently on international duty with Spain, but has struggled to make the starting eleven for his country.

[The Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/981168/Liverpool-transfer-news-Real-Madrid-Marco-Asensio-tempted-promise-gossip) report that Asensio could be in line for a sensational £158 million deal for the Spaniard, breaking the fee spent by the Reds on Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool are also reportedly keen on handing Asensio a large wage increase to tempt him into a potential move to Anfield.

Asensio’s agent also confirmed that Madrid had received an offer from an English team for Asensio.

The player’s agent ,Horacio Gaggioli, said:

> He has an extraordinary future.

> “You can imagine that \[the offers\] come from England because they can afford it without any problems.

> “They could even raise it.
