# Barcelona linked with deal for Simon Mignolet

Barcelona have been linked with a shock move for Reds keeper Simon Mignolet, according to[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11833/11455547/barcelona-interested-in-signing-simon-mignolet-from-liverpool).

Mignolet has been booted down to third choice goalkeeper thanks to the new arrival of Alisson from Roma, after losing his spot to Loris Karius.

Karius had a disappointing Champions League final, making mistakes that cost the Reds a sixth European title.

However, Sky Sports report that Barcelona could be in line for a move for the Belgian, amid rumours that Mignolet could be making a move to Turkey.

Besiktas made contact with Liverpool over a move for Mignolet last week, but the Turkish side have yet to make a proper offer for the Belgian shot-stopper.

Barcelona could, therefore, make a move for Mignolet, who has been at Liverpool since 2013 after signing for the Reds from Sunderland.

The Belgian was part of the Liverpool squad that came ever so close to clinching the Premier League in 2015, only narrowly losing the title to Manchester City.
