# Barnes claims Salah would not be as good at another club

Ex-Liverpool striker John Barnes has claimed that Mo Salah would struggle to replicate his Liverpool form elsewhere.

Salah has already been linked to a move away from Liverpool in the summer, with football giants Real Madrid supposedly considering a bid.

However, Barnes thinks that Salah would not be quite as prolific if he moved on from Anfield.

He claims that Jurgen Klopp’s style of play suits Salah and is helping him to thrive this season.

[Speaking to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/john-barnes-explains-mohamed-salahs-12333098) Barnes said this:

> How Jurgen Klopp sends his team out gets the best out of Mo Salah.

> So if Mo Salah plays for another team I don’t think he’d do as well because, while he’s a great player, he’s actually found the right environment for him to maximise his potential.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma for £35m in the summer and the winger has gone on to score 38 goals for the club in all competitions.

The 25-year-old has scored 29 goals and assisted nine in 29 starts in the Premier League, and could set a record for goals in a season if he scored three more in the final few games.
