# Can Liverpool defend their Champions League trophy?

Liverpool are champions of Europe once again and Saturday’s fantastic result will no doubt give them a spring in their step ahead of the new season, but does it change their odds for the next Champions League campaign?

Since 1990, only Milan and Real Madrid have successfully defended their Champions League titles, something to consider if you fancy a flutter.

Known as one of the toughest feats in club football, Liverpool will have their work cut out if they want to get their hands on the trophy this time next year.

Klopp has built a side that now knows how to win. The performance against Tottenham in Madrid is hardly one that will live long in the memory, but the result got them over the line.

They missed out on the Premier League title but they will learn from that experience and go again to try and rival Pep Guardiola’s men next year.

Liverpool now also have a taste for success, something that Klopp will be hoping drives this group on to another level as they aim to build on their fantastic achievement.
