# Chelsea ready to battle with Liverpool for Berge signing

Chelsea are in the race to sign Sander Berge from Genk, according to [https://www.goal.com/en/news/chelsea-ready-to-compete-with-liverpool-and-napoli-for-genks/2uler5b4q64t1g9fpku9kh6w1](https://www.goal.com/en/news/chelsea-ready-to-compete-with-liverpool-and-napoli-for-genks/2uler5b4q64t1g9fpku9kh6w1)*[Goal](https://www.goal.com/en/news/chelsea-ready-to-compete-with-liverpool-and-napoli-for-genks/2uler5b4q64t1g9fpku9kh6w1)*.

The Blues are believed to be “keeping tabs” on the 21-year-old, who has been linked with Liverpool in recent times.

Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the midfielder, having seen him impress for Genk against the Reds in this season’s Champions League.

Liverpool will face competition from Chelsea, however, as they look to sign new players once their transfer ban is lifted.

Berge only has 18 months remaining in his current Genk deal, meaning they will likely allow him to leave next summer.

It’s no surprise to see some top clubs tracking the youngster, considering he is seen as one of the brightest prospects in Belgian football.

The Norway international already has plenty experience and his all-round quality would make him an interesting signing by Liverpool.

Berge may be viewed as someone who can become a regular over time, perhaps having to make do with a squad role to begin with.

Liverpool will have a fight on their hands if their interest ends up being genuine, though.
