Premier League leaders Liverpool have been closely monitoring Coventry City full-back Sam McCallum.

The Reds have been linked with a January move for the left-back, as have fellow Premier League sides Manchester City and Chelsea.

The 19-year-old is having an impressive season and Coventry boss Mark Robins knows that it could be difficult to keep hold of his star man.

As quoted on the [Coventry Telegraph](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/coventry-city-transfers-liverpool-mccallum-17452975), Robins said:

> There’s nothing there at the minute that I am hearing of and you would expect to have heard something by now if something is going to happen.

> So it would be something out of the blue and a surprise, but we will wait and see.

> You never say no, because clearly, football is a funny old game, as someone once said.

McCallum is one of the highest-rated players in the country at the moment and securing his services would be a massive victory for the Reds.

However, there are understood to be over 20 teams watching McCallum so there could be a big battle for his signature next month.

Robins’ comments offer some hope to the Reds though, as he has refused to rule out a move away for his player.
