# Elliott reveals he heavily researched Blackburn prior to loan move

Harvey Elliott has revealed that he researched Blackburn heavily as a football club, prior to moving there.

The 17-year-old [sealed](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/412295-harvey-elliott-joins-blackburn-rovers-on-loan) a loan move to the Championship side last week, allowing him to enjoy more regular first-team football moving forward.

He didn’t feature in Blackburn’s 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but could possibly make his debut on Wednesday night, as his new club head to Watford.

[In an interview with](https://twitter.com/Rovers/status/1317767377707134976?s=20)Blackburn’s official website, Elliott spoke about the importance of getting to know the club before joining:

> I can’t wait to get started and I’d like to thank Rovers for giving me the opportunity to come here and show everyone what I can do.

> It’s a really good club and I’m really looking forward to getting started. I’m really happy to be here.

> I was excited when I heard of the interest. I wanted to see what the club was all about so I watched a couple of games and researched everything about the club and the squad, to see the competition in my position.

> The team have got off to a great start and hopefully we can reach the end goal by getting promoted to the Premier League. Rovers is my club, I need to work hard and I will be doing all I can to help us back to the Premier League.

I feel this has Jurgen Klopp’s fingerprints written all over it, with the Liverpool boss someone who wants players to be deeply involved with the club they are playing for.

From minute one when he took charge of the Reds, he wanted there to be a [togetherness](https://tribuna.com/en/liverpoolfc/news/2020-03-06-we-do-it-for-carol-and-caroline-incredible-jurgen-klopp-reveals-what-reds-strength-is-all/) with everybody, with individuals aware of the history and what it means to represent them.

Elliott may have taken on the decision to research Blackburn himself, in fairness, but it wouldn’t be a shock if Klopp had suggested the idea to him.

The hope is that the teenager can play lots of football this season and continue to grow as a player, before eventually becoming a key man at Liverpool for many years.
