# Fans love Garcia’s hilarious tweet about playing for Liverpool again

Luis Garcia was a hero at Liverpool during the mid-2000s, playing a huge role in the Reds’ Champions League success in 2005.

The Spaniard famously scored the ‘ghost goal’ at home to Chelsea in the semi-finals second leg, but also registered crucial strikes against Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus in earlier knockout stage games.

Liverpool are having to field two separate teams in the space of 24 hours next month, taking on Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals (December 17th), as well as playing in the Club World Cup last-eight in Qatar (December 18th).

In a brilliant tweet, Garcia offered to represent the Reds once more, in order to aid a potential shortage of players:

These Liverpool supporters loved the Spaniard’s post, saying they would love to see him back.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

It does seem bizarre that Liverpool are having to essentially play in two competitions at the same time.

They haven’t been helped out at all by the schedule, and while some rival fans may claim this is what happens when you compete in every available tournament, this issue should never arise.

It means the Reds could end up severely damaging their chances of reaching the Carabao Cup semis, with the more experienced players expected to be in Qatar.
