# Fantasy Football Blog – Week 3

Gameweek 3 has been and gone. Thousands of managers up and down the country were celebrating another glorious week of Fantasy Football, whilst others were left figuring out where it went wrong.

This week, I interviewed Dom Campbell, who sits top of the #LFCTwitterarti league, ahead of Gameweek 4.

**Mark: Dom, two very solid weeks for yourself. You’ve jumped to the top spot in the league, explain your team decisions so far.**

***Dom**: For me, the first two names I added to my team were Sterling and Ramsey. You would have had to have made an incredibly huge gamble to not include those two. Sterling is going to have an outrageous season and Ramsey will get you consistent points if Arsenal can keep him fit.*

*I did make a few selection errors which were due to price-blindness. I opted for Eriksen over Sigurdsson in the opening week simply because the former cost more. I mean come on, he cost more so by that reasoning he should be better?*

*That was quickly rectified after gameweek one. Gameweek two saw me add Naismith; a player I had most of last season but totally forgot about. The guy is a steal for £5m, but constantly over-looked by fantasy league managers. Luckily for Everton, however, Martinez is no fantasy manager. Unluckily for me, I am.*

*At 5.5m, Lovren looked a steal! But then the realisation dawned on me that it’s a Liverpool defence and we have more holes than a metaphor which would be quite frankly too tasteless to use so soon after.*

*I honestly thought Rooney was going to come good. He started off well, and then suddenly he turned into Rooney; for want of a better comparison. My only other decision to make was Fabregas or Oscar. And then it was about filling in the defence with cheap, yet reliable options.*

**Mark: You took a -4 point hit by making two transfers. Which ones did you take out and which players did you bring** **in and why?**

**Dom**: Clyne *and Balotelli. I just have a feeling that Balotelli will flourish under Rodgers. It was a decision that, at the time, looked rather foolish and knee-jerk. But given Sturridge’s injury, has turned into a stroke of class. Other than that, Clyne was just a better option than my Manchester City defender who kept getting rotated!*

**Mark: Did you fall for the Jose Mourinho mind games and sell Diego Costa?**

**Dom**: *I didn’t even buy him. Not going to buy the same striker 68% of people (or whatever it is) chose. In saying that, I thought Wayne Rooney was a great shout, so that probably shows what I know because he’s no Naismith, is he.*

**Mark: How long are you going to give Wayne Rooney to perform?**

**Dom**: *Probably a couple more weeks, but my decision needs to be quick as he is dropping in value. In saying that, I still have 1.1m in the bank. So replacing him isn’t going to be difficult. Falcao may do a job, but I am not sure. The only other real option would be Costa – but I will only add him in if my answer to question three is kindly removed from this piece.*

**Mark: After Deadline day, there are an abundance of new players in the English Premire League, which ones are going to be coming into your squad?**

**Dom:** *Honestly? I am happy with my squad. Maybe I will make the odd gameweek change dependant on who is playing, or replace Rooney. But apart from that, I don’t see much need to edit my team. I’m top remember? Something must be right.*

**Mark: Tempted to play your WildCard?**

**Dom**: *No, as I have a Wildcard strategy. Will I share it? Yes… at the end of the season.*

**Mark: You’re currently one of 20 LFC Twitterarti accounts in the league. Looking at this list, which other manager do you want to finish above this season?**

**Dom*****:** I don’t want to talk about other managers, I won’t resort to that. But I’ll tell ya – you can tell them now if they’re reading it – we’re all still fighting for this title, and they’ve got to perform consistently in this league if they want to get something, and… and I tell you honestly, I will love it if I beat them, love it!*

**Mark: Looking at the fixture list this weekend, which teams and players do you see doing well?**

**Dom**: *Fabregas, Naismith, Balotelli, Rooney and Sterling. Now watch none of them get anything. But I do see big weeks for those guys.*

**Mark: What do you think about Naismith of Everton? Will he be able to continue his good start to the season?**

**Dom**: *I can fully see Naismith getting around 15 goals this season. If he is played regularly, then yup. He is a much better player than he is credited for. So yes, I do think he can keep it up so long as the faith is kept in him.*

**Mark: If you had to pick one of these players for the coming game week who would it be** **Falcao or Balotelli?**

**Dom***: I will probably end up with both if Rooney carries on being as useful as a waterproof teabag! But Balotelli if I could only choose one.*
