# Central defenders Liverpool should look to sign

Liverpool could be set for a busy summer in a few months’ time and it’s safe to say that there will be improvements made to the current squad.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have shown signs of heading in the right direction this season and are keeping up their pursuit of Champions League football next season.

However, there are still clearly areas that could do with some work when the summer transfer window does open in July and one of those positions is at centre-back.

This season, the Reds have leaked several unnecessary goals largely due to the lack of quality in the heart of defence. Joel Matip has been superb since his move but his defensive partners have left a lot to be desired.

Dejan Lovren is often injured and fails to inspire, Ragnar Klavan is a decent backup but nothing more, and as for Lucas Leiva at centre-back… it speaks for itself.

So, here are some central defenders the Reds should consider signing!
