# Lallana confirms he will be back available later this month

Liverpool attacker Adam Lallana has provided an update on his recent injury, confirming he will miss the clash against Tottenham in the Premier League later this month.

The 30-year old, who has yet to start a Premier League fixture this campaign after being fraught with injury last season, was forced to pull out of the England squad for the upcoming games against Spain and Switzerland after picking up a groin injury in training.

As a result, the former Southampton man is back at Melwood receiving treatment, which should see him back before the end of the month.

Talking to the [club’s official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/315282-adam-lallana-liverpool-injury-update), Lallana confirmed he would be back soon, saying:

> It’s a minor setback, which isn’t ideal, as I’ve been in great shape until now, but it’s positive news that it’s only a brief lay-off.

> I’m pleased I’ll be back available for Liverpool, both domestically and in the Champions League during September, and then England again for the next break.

> I know I can make a significant contribution over the course of a long season and that’s where my focus will remain – with so much to play for.

> Doing my best and giving everything for my teammates, management and supporters of club and country is all that matters.
