# Markovic’s move to Anderlecht collapses

Liverpool midfielder Lazar Marković’s move to Anderlecht has collapsed, according to HLN journalist Kristof Terreur.

The Serbia international appeared almost certain to leave Anfield this summer, with a move to Anderlecht the most likely, with reports earlier today suggesting Marković was in Belgium discussing personal terms.

But now the move appears to be dead in the water, leaving Marković’s future up in the air.

The £20million signing from Benfica in 2014 has struggled to make an impact with the Reds, being limited to just 34 appearances for the club in four years.

Greek side PAOK were also said to be interested in signing Marković, but it appears likely that the 24-year will remain with the Merseyside club, at least until January.
