# Five centre-backs Liverpool should target

In another copy and paste headline, Liverpool have suffered an injury setback – once again. This time, arguably our player of the moment, and maybe even one of the league’s best centre-backs right now: Mamadou Sakho.

With Lovren and Skrtel as our foreseeable centre-back pairing, and that previous statement being enough of a nightmare fuel for weeks of sweaty dreaming for any Liverpool fan, it’s not looking too rosy. Two months out is the timeframe doing the rounds, and even though he does look like a final boss you fight at the end of a video game, he is a bit injury prone.

All it means is that we need a new centre-back. The consensus (also known as “the truth”) is Skrtel isn’t good enough to be our starting centre-back. So should we be in the market for a first, second, maybe even third choice? Let’s look at some names.
