# Four Findings: Liverpool 1-0 Brighton Hove Albion

In about as convincing as a one-goal victory can be, the Reds once again cruised to victory. Returning to the fortress of Anfield, Liverpool bossed Brighton on Saturday.

Precision was lacking and Brighton showed energy in clogging passing lanes early. Yet, once the Reds found a rhythm and stepped up the pace the Seagulls began to scramble.

By the 23rd minute, a trap that had been set sprung with success. Liverpool let Brighton pass around the back, waiting for the ball to drop to whoever took up the six spot. It was the trigger to press four players, collapsing and boxing the midfielder into a trap. It had nearly worked a couple of times before James Milner nicked the ball to start the counter that ended with a Mo Salah goal.

One poor chance in the first half and an early one in the second half was all Brighton had to offer until a desperate push in the dying minutes. At one point with 20 minutes to go, Liverpool confined the match to Brighton’s half the pitch for nearly 10 straight minutes. There was no way out until a Reds mistake allowed the visitors a reprieve from frantically defending the Kop end.

Brighton’s entire afternoon amounted to a single, late, headed chance that forced an impressive save. It was the only moment that prompted a suspension of breath. Overall, Liverpool rolled and easily recovered from a few near momentary slips of judgment.

Here are four findings from the match.
