# Four Findings: Southampton 1-6 Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge returned as a starter at St. Mary’s and he brought an abundance of goals with him. After conceding in the first minute, Liverpool roared back to smash Southampton 6-1 in the Capital One Cup.

It was another slow start for the Reds, falling behind to Sadio Mane’s back post header after just 41 seconds.

In fact, the Reds could have easily fallen behind even further to the home side. It would take at least 15 minutes before Liverpool started to feel their way into the match.

Even Sturridge’s equaliser seemed to happen almost against the run of play, but it actually signaled more of a seismic shift in the proceedings as Liverpool regained their momentum and cutting edge.

Here are four findings from the match.
