# Guardiola could be “on the cusp” of leaving Man City, claims Sinclair

Pep Guardiola could be “on the cusp” of leaving Manchester City because of VAR, according to former England international Trevor Sinclair.

The Spaniard had an afternoon to forget on Sunday, as his City side were soundly beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield.

The match wasn’t without controversy, however, with Guardiola incensed that his team weren’t twice awarded penalties for handball by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The technology continues to be a major talking point in football, with many already growing tired of it.

When VAR was introduced to English football, opinion seemed split, with some behind the decision and others thinking it would take something away from the game.

So far, it has failed fairly spectacularly and it always felt inevitable that there would be a big VAR-related talking point to come out of the Liverpool-City game.

There is an increasing swell of opinion suggesting this could end up being Guardiola’s final season at City.
