# Haaland a doubt for Liverpool clash – Why this is a boost

Liverpool have been handed a potential boost ahead of their Champions League clash with RB Salzburg on Wednesday, with concerns over Erling Haaland’s fitness, and that would certainly be a positive.

[According to Sports Mole via Viasat](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/liverpool/champions-league/news/haaland-doubtful-for-liverpool-clash_373344.html), Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed that Haaland is being monitored daily by the club’s doctors ahead of the Champions League tie and is a doubt.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Haaland potentially missing Salzburg’s trip to Anfield is certainly a boost for Liverpool, following his standout performance in the first group stage game.

The striker shone for the Austrian side against Genk, netting a hat-trick in his first Champions League appearance, and while Liverpool would have certainly posed a greater threat, it would be a bonus nonetheless for the Reds.

The 19-year-old has since been touted with a move to the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus, the report suggests.
