# Ibe excited to work with Klopp

Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe is eager to work with new Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, whilst he also appreciates what ex-boss Brendan Rodgers did for his career.

The Ulsterman handed Ibe his debut in May 2013, and used him regularly after recalling him from his loan spell at Derby County midway through last term.

The England Under-21 international impressed during pre-season and started the first two Premier League games of the 2015-16 season, but a loss of form and a change of system saw the former Wycombe Wanderers youngster lose his place in the side.

The 19-year-old, who – along with fellow Red Joe Gomez – is now with the England Under-21s squad ahead of their fixture against Kazakhstan at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, is looking forward to working with the new gaffer, who has a reputation for helping turn young players into stars.

“I can’t wait to get back and start working with him now,” said Ibe, as quoted in the Liverpool Echo.

> I can only try and get better with the help he’s hopefully going to provide for me, and there’s a lot of other young players, so working around him should be great and also for the senior players in the squad.

Ibe does, though, acknowledge the impact that Rodgers had on his game.

“It’s a shame \[about Rodgers\], because he was an important man in my career,” he continued.

“But that’s how football is. There’s no promises in football and I wish him all the best for the future.

> I now need to focus and work under the new manager, he’s got good experience and did some great stuff with Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp takes charge of his first game as Liverpool manager against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The German took his first training session at Melwood on Monday afternoon.
