# Joe Gomez set for England call up

Liverpool central defender Joe Gomez is set for a call-up to the England senior squad on Thursday.

England manager Gareth Southgate will name his squad for next month’s games on Thursday, with Gomez expected to be one of the defenders selected.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-world-cup-2018-hero-13160313) Gomez will come back into the team after missing out on the World Cup through injury.

Gomez has had a brilliant start to the Premier League campaign with Liverpool, who are the only side yet to concede a goal.

The former Charlton man has been superb alongside Virgil Van Dijk in defence, helping to keep three straight clean sheets.

His Liverpool teammates Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also expected to be called up once again.

The report also claims that Adam Lallana has a chance at being called up, with the midfielder now fit and ready to play a part for his country.
