# Journalist claims Timo Werner’s future is ‘in Jurgen Klopp’s hands’

Timo Werner’s future lies in the hands of Jurgen Klopp, according to *[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11943120/timo-werners-future-in-liverpool-manager-jurgen-klopps-hands-kaveh-solhekol-the-insider)* reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The German is [reportedly](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/20/reliable-journalist-explains-why-werner-prefers-liverpool-to-bayern-munich/) one of Liverpool’s primary transfer targets this summer, following another impressive season for RB Leipzig.

Solhekol claims that Werner will be a Reds player next season, should Klopp decide to activate the 23-year-old’s release clause.

It is mentioned that the fight for playing time alongside Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino could be a potential issue, but the striker ‘does not believe he is at their level yet.’

With every passing day, I believe Werner is looking increasingly likely to become a Liverpool player this summer.

The likes of [Kai Havertz](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/19/liverpool-claimed-to-have-made-e125m-bid-for-havertz/), [Jadon Sancho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/12/28/liverpools-interest-in-jadon-sancho-confirmed/) and [Kylian Mbappe](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/24/mbappe-would-consider-liverpool-move-every-single-day-claims-journalist/) have all been linked with the Reds, too, but they arguably don’t feel as nailed on in comparison.

Werner would be an ideal addition at Anfield, in my opinion, bringing with him goalscoring pedigree – [27 goals](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/130903/Show/Timo-Werner) this season – a strong work ethic and an ability to play anywhere across the front-three.

He can cut in from the left, lead the line expertly or be an effective right-sided player, meaning he could dovetail beautifully with any of Liverpool’s much-famed front-three.

Werner joining could also add some attacking squad depth, and alleviate the issue of Salah, Mane or Firmino getting injured, as well as the first two being on [Africa Cup of Nations](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51119002) duty early next year.
