# Journalist confident of Liverpool sealing Fekir deal

L’Equipe journalist Erik Bielderman has claimed that Fekir will join Liverpool this summer.

Bielderman has made it clear that the indication from Lyon and Fekir is that a move to Liverpool will transpire.

Fekir has met with Lyon’s club president to tell him he wants the move sealed before the World Cup so that he can focus on his performances for France.

Liverpool and Lyon are continuing talks over a deal for Fekir, though, as the two club’s look to meet a price that suits both parties.

Lyon are prepared to wait until after the World Cup to strike a deal for Fekir to leave, meaning Liverpool will have to persuade them with a good offer to sell in the coming weeks.

[Speaking to TalkSport,](https://talksport.com/football/liverpool-fc-transfer-news-nabil-fekir-may-battle-place-reds-xi-roberto-firmino-according) the journalist said this:

> We do believe that it \[Fekir’s move to Liverpool\] is going to happen.

> I’m not going to tell you it’s going to happen on a very short basis but it should because it seems quite obvious from the Lyon camp and the Fekir camp, Liverpool is really the first choice.

> He’s a playmaker, he’s a creative player so you know you have to use him in a central position behind one or two strikers.

> He’s not what he was a couple of years ago. He’s not a right-winger.
