# Keita expected to be available for Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth

Naby Keita could be fit to face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend, according to Jurgen Klopp.

The Guinean has suffered another recent [injury blow](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-team-news-confirmed-jurgen-17839009), this time to his hip, ruling him out of the matches against Watford and Chelsea.

Speaking to reporters, however, with quotes provided by [LiverpoolFC.com](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/389017-naby-keita-fitness-update), Klopp confirmed that he hopes to have Keita back this weekend, as the Reds host Bournemouth at Anfield.

> \[He\] is not ready \[but\] could be ready after that game (the Chelsea match), but for that game not. It’s not serious but obviously serious enough.

Keita came in for plenty of [criticism](https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-fans-slam-naby-keitas-performance-against-west-ham-anfield-the-reds-reaction) after his performance against West Ham last week, but I thought it was unjustified.

Although he certainly didn’t do enough on the night, there were still positives to take from his performance, most notably two key passes, five ball recoveries and three successful tackles, according to *[FotMob](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3056003)*.

Having the 25-year-old available again will give Liverpool’s midfield extra impetus, especially with Jordan Henderson [sidelined](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/388528-fitness-update-jordan-henderson-james-milner-xherdan-shaqiri-injury), and both Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum [not firing](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/03/02/opinion-liverpool-need-the-real-fabinho-back-as-soon-as-possible/) on all cylinders.

Keita just needs to avoid injury and find a rhythm – if that happens, I believe he will become a key man for the Reds, with his quality on the ball and understated defensive work making him an important cog in the machine.
