# Keown backs Liverpool to match Arsenal’s Invincibles

Martin Keown believes Liverpool can match Arsenal’s [Invincibles](<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Invincibles_(football)#Arsenal>) this season, going the entire Premier League campaign unbeaten.

The Gunners achieved the feat back in 2003/04, winning 26 and drawing 12 of their league games.

Liverpool remain unbeaten after 20 matches this season, incredibly [winning 19 of those](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table).

Talk has already started about the possibility of Jurgen Klopp’s side replicating the Invincibles, and writing in the *[Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7870499/MARTIN-KEOWN-Liverpool-team-mark-Invincibles.html)*, Keown has backed them to do exactly what his team did:

> It won’t be easy. But as someone who was part of an Invincibles group 16 years ago, do I think Liverpool will stay unbeaten this season? Yes I do.

> They have all the right ingredients.

Call it pessimism, but I still believe talk of an unbeaten league season for Liverpool is still wide of the mark.

There is still only just over half of the campaign gone and the Reds have numerous challenging fixtures to overcome.

To not lose in 38 games has only been done once in the Premier League and I would be surprised if Liverpool achieved it.

That’s not to say they aren’t better than the Invincibles – in my opinion they are, not least because they draw fewer matches and have also won the Champions League.

Personally, I feel as if there will be one or two fixtures when the Reds come unstuck, though.

Saturday’s trip to Tottenham could easily be one of those, especially with Jose Mourinho out to cause more misery for Liverpool fans.

Many will point to the fact that the Reds are unbeaten in the league for over a year, which is fair, but my gut feeling is that one or two defeats will come their way, but they will win the title.
