# Khan. Stalin. Rodgers? Get out

Everyone has an opinion on Brendan Rodgers, regardless of what club you support. Some see him as a sharp mind blunted by unfortunate times, some see him as a Twitter account, some see him as a scapegoat for what has come of Liverpool the last 12+ months. The one thing people don’t seem to see him as is human.

One look at the incredible support and football of the 2013-14 season is a strong example of what the Liverpool fan base, team and Rodgers is capable of – a battalion of fans wielding pyro and banners followed some of the world’s best footie around the country.

##### *A far cry from the Anfield nowadays – we need the spirit back, but does Rodgers look like he can supply it?*

Times have changed – we’ve said our goodbyes to players and competitions and, at the time of writing, the heart of supporting Liverpool FC. It’s heartbreaking to see the fan base so exhausted, and just as upsetting to see so many place the blame solely on Rodgers.

Could Luis Suarez’s and (ostensibly) Daniel Sturridge’s disappearing acts for the next two seasons be blamed on Rodgers? Does he get his arse out to distract our players when they’re taking penalties?

##### *The manager and players aren’t Emotionless Football Machines, they feel the punch of loss as much we do.*

His tactics and transfer choices might draw criticism – justifiably – but he isn’t the super villain bent on the destruction of Liverpool FC people make him out to be. Gerrard slipping isn’t his wallpaper. The face of the manager that left the Britannia Stadium at the end of the 6-1 demoraliser wasn’t screwed in laughter as he walked around the field, flipping off the travelling Liverpool fans.

He looked absolutely devastated.

People forget, now this might come as a shock to some, he actually **wants** Liverpool to do well. Crazy, right? Nah!

The man people have been booing and sending death threats to is part of the same family that almost won the Premier League two seasons ago. I left the pub after watching that Crystal Palace match with the same tears in my eyes as I did when I left the pub after the Manchester City match and Brendan Rodgers has been there for every ascent and descent of the same roller coaster – he’s not in the controller box or watching from a crowd below, he’s right beside us.

##### *Blame can be placed on his shoulders, but the threats and insults are embarrassing.*

His follies are undeniable; just as his spirit is. Saying you don’t want him to manage Liverpool anymore is understandable and at this stage the majority opinion, but wishing him harm means you’re insulting the club I bet you have the slogan of in your Twitter profile or poster of on your old bedroom wall.
