# Kirkland drops hint about where Liverpool will strengthen this summer

Liverpool will add quality to their attack this summer, according to former Reds goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring in some new faces at the end of the season, as he aims to take his side up another level.

I think it would be a major surprise if Klopp didn’t sign a world-renowned attacking player before the beginning of next season.

In Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, the German has three world-class individuals to call upon, but there is no top quality fourth option.

Divock Origi is the current go-to player in that respect, but despite scoring some [big goals](https://dugout.com/liverpoolfc/origi-talks-about-his-champions-league-final-goal), his all-round game isn’t at the required level.

I think Werner could be the ideal addition if Liverpool were to only sign one big-name attacker, with the RB Leipzig striker not only a ruthless goalscorer – he has [88 goals in 150 appearances](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#Career_statistics) for his current club – but also someone with the ability to play anywhere across the front-line.

He could play on the left in Mane’s absence, out on the right in place of Salah and down the middle if Fimino is missing.
