# Klopp and Alisson prevail at Best FIFA Football Awards – is it deserved?

Jurgen Klopp and Alisson have both won prizes at the Best FIFA Football Awards, outlining Liverpool’s brilliance over the past year.

Klopp won the Best FIFA Men’s Coach award ahead of Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino, giving a superb speech in Milan, which included:

> I have to say thank you to my amazing club, Liverpool.
>
> I have to thank my team; as a coach, you can only be as good as your team.
>
> I’m really proud of being the manager of such an incredible bunch of players.

Meanwhile, Alisson got the better of Ederson and Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the race for Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

It has been a quite extraordinary 12 months for the Reds, who won the Champions League after a memorable campaign, also picking up a club record 97 points in the Premier League.

There will be some who believe Guardiola’s treble exploits were worthy of pipping Klopp, but the German’s win is fully understandable, particularly considering the miraculous nature of his side’s 4-0 win over Barcelona in the semi-final second leg.

Meanwhile, Alisson has been a wonderful signing from Roma, outlining his status as the top goalkeeper in world football.

Liverpool may be thriving without him currently, but they still need their No.1 back from injury as soon as possible.

He is comfortably the Reds’ best ‘keeper of the Premier League era and could go on to be their greatest in history.
