# Klopp clear favourite to be next manager

Jürgen Klopp has emerged as the clear front-runner to replace the recently-sacked Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool manager.

[The Guardian are reporting](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/oct/05/liverpool-official-approach-jurgen-klopp-this-week?CMP=share_btn_tw) that Liverpool will hold talks with the former Borussia Dortmund coach in the coming days.

Other possible candidates being touted include [Carlo Ancelotti](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3259983/Liverpool-face-hard-sell-convince-Carlo-Ancelotti-manager-s-job-Brendan-Rodgers-sacked.html)and [Frank de Boer](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/frank-de-boer-admits-interest-6561562), who is currently managing Ajax.

While speculation continues that Ancelotti has been sounded out and is also being considered, Klopp is believed by the Guardian to be the ideal replacement for the model at Anfield.

During his seven-year run at Dortmund, Klopp earned two Bundesliga titles and a Champions League final appearance, ultimately falling against rivals Bayern Munich in 2013.

However, the German resigned as manager of the Westphalian club, intent on taking a brief sabbatical from the game to recharge.

Considering his recent statements and known desire to manage in the Premier League, it is [believed by various sources](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/article4576160.ece) that the 48-year-old would cut short his break to take charge of Liverpool with the hopes of replicating the success that he created at Dortmund.

Fenway Sports Group [promised](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/195175-liverpool-fc-part-company-with-brendan-rodgers) to appoint a new manager in a “decisive and timely manner,” suggesting a change would be in place prior to the team resuming action against Tottenham Hotspur on October 17.

Former players, including [Jamie Carragher](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-legend-jamie-carragher-backs-6573922), [Jamie Redknapp](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/special-jurgen-klopp-would-perfect-6577005), and [Mark Lawrenson](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mark-lawrenson-rodgers-suffered-silent-10194358) amongst others, have been outspoken in their support for bringing Klopp to Liverpool, citing his impressive CV and believed desire for the challenge to demonstrate he can build another club into a European powerhouse.
