# Klopp could get Rotherham into the Premier League, claims pundit

Jurgen Klopp could take Rotherham into the Premier League, according to Paul Merson.

The German continues to earn huge praise for the job he is doing, inspiring them to [Champions League glory](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48368443) and a [14-point lead](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) at the top of the league.

Writing for *[Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11908130/merson-says-jurgen-klopp-is-so-good-he-could-get-rotherham-to-the-premier-league)*, Merson lauded the brilliance of Klopp, saying he is so good that he could lead a League One outfit into the top flight:

> I’m a great lover of Jurgen Klopp. I could use any team here, but I’m just going to say Rotherham.

> I think Klopp could go to Rotherham and take them to the Premier League in time. He’s that good.

> He gets players in and plays them the right way. They don’t have household names. Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Fabinho. People talk about the full-backs, but if those three don’t play, I don’t think it actually works as well for Liverpool.

> I know Pep Guardiola’s record is great, don’t get me wrong, but every player is £80m, £90m in every position. I haven’t seen anybody at Manchester City become much, much better, they were already great players.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

There is no better manager on the planet than Klopp, in my opinion.

It is no exaggeration to say that he has completely reshaped the history of Liverpool Football Club, taking them from top-four hopefuls to the [best club side in the world](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/379492-liverpool-flamengo-club-world-cup-match-report).

While he has clearly spent money along the way, I also believe he has achieved all of this with [far less resources](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/fuenfjahresvergleich/wettbewerb/GB1) than Pep Guardiola, who I think is the second-best manager around.

Rather than signing superstars, Klopp has brought in exciting talent and turned them into the best players in the world, such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, to name just a few.

I believe Klopp would work wonders at a lower league club, using his world-class man-management skills and tactical mind to devastating effect.

Some managers need to have lots of money to succeed, but the German isn’t like that, as proven by previous stints at [Mainz](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/jurgen-klopp-promotion-with-mainz-bigger-than-winning-the-champions-league-4860) and [Borussia Dortmund](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2015/10/video-jurgen-klopps-double-winning-season-dortmund-201112/).
