# Klopp hails “sensational” Fabinho – he is now one of Liverpool’s key men

Fabinho is fast becoming one of the first names on Jurgen Klopp’s team-sheet, as his influence at Liverpool grows all the time.

The Brazilian was superb on Saturday evening, bossing the midfield battle in the Reds’ 3-1 win over Arsenal at Anfield.

[Speaking](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-boss-jurgen-klopp-hails-19006943) after the game, Klopp lauded Fabinho for his impact, in particular one eye-catching tackle:

> Fabinho played sensational.

> There was one tackle from him that was just incredible – completely clean, winning the ball and passing it with his bum pretty much still on the floor!

It feels like a long time ago now that Fabinho was being criticised for some forgettable performances in the middle of the park.

The 25-year-old was always likely to take time to adjust to Klopp’s complex playing style, however, and he has improved hugely over time.

Now one of the most effective defensive midfielders in Europe, Fabinho’s importance to Liverpool cannot be downplayed.

While the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino earn more column inches, as well as Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, he holds the team together.

The Brazil international’s influence should only grow moving forward.
