# Klopp hints that Emre Can will miss remainder of the season

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Emre Can will miss the remainder of the season with an injury, which could mean the midfielder has played his last game for the Reds.

Can has been out since the 5-0 win over Watford last month with a back problem, and looks likely to be out for the remainder of the season.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, Klopp said, via the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-press-conference-live-jurgen-12356325):

I said it will be difficult for him to play again this season.

> That’s when our season was ending mid-May.

> Since then Emre has developed well.

> He is in good hands at the moment. He’s not overly happy with the situation but is positive.

> I’m not sure if it’s true he won’t be out for the season now. He’s definitely out for Bournemouth.

Can has been linked with a move away from Anfield for a while now, with the midfielders contract up this Summer. Italy seems a likely destination for Can, with Juventus taking a kean interest in his services.
