# Klopp hints that Fabinho will not start Liverpool’s clash with Wolves

Jurgen Klopp says it is “sensationally good” to have Fabinho back in the fold, but hinted that he won’t start against Wolves.

Liverpool take on Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at Molineux on Thursday evening, looking to continue their [record-breaking form](https://talksport.com/football/650791/liverpool-premier-league-title-win-manchester-city-leicester-everton/) in the Premier League.

Klopp has already confirmed that James Milner, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri are out, but Fabinho is set to be in the matchday squad again.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the Liverpool boss spoke of his joy at the 26-year-old’s return but suggested he won’t start against Wolves, as reported by the *Evening Standard*‘s [David Lynch,](https://twitter.com/LynchStandard/status/1219975685051166721?s=20)

> Sensationally good to have him back. How close is he to starting? I don’t know.

> He needs to find rhythm and we will introduce him step by step.

I believe Fabinho was a strong contender for Liverpool’s Player of the Year before he got [injured](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fabinho-injury-liverpool-napoli-breaking-17328010) in November.

The Brazilian was as dominant as any midfielder in the league, in my opinion, combining physical strength, an expert reading of play and quality on the ball.

He [averaged](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/115916/Show/Fabinho) an 86 percent pass completion rate in the league, as well as averaging 2.3 tackles per game.

I think Fabinho should be a regular starter again by the time he is fully fit, but there is no need to start him against Wolves.

Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum are in magnificent form, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to join them in the middle of the park.

If required, I think he can be a strong option from the substitutes’ bench.
