# Klopp still interested in signing €70m-rated Adama Traore

Jurgen Klopp is still interested in signing Adama Traore, according to *[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/)*, via *[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/journalist-explains-why-its-logical-klopp-wants-player-at-liverpool-club-asking-e70m/)*.

The Wolves star has arguably become one of the Premier League’s most exciting attacking players, using [his blistering pace](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-leagues-top-10-fastest-22434963) to great effect.

Liverpool were [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/06/26/liverpool-finally-make-an-offer-for-adama-traore/) with Traore earlier in the year, but there didn’t appear to be much truth in the rumours, with the Spaniard staying put.

This latest report states that Klopp is eyeing up a move for the 24-year-old, with journalist Miguel Rico stating that it would be a ‘logical’ move for the Reds boss.

Traore is valued [at €70million](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-mendes-offre-adama-traore-16615) by Wolves, should Liverpool wish to try their luck in January or next summer.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

While Traore is a player who can be devastating on his day – his [two goals](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54142831) helped Wolves win 3-1 away to Manchester City last season, for example – €70million is a huge amount for a squad player.

Traore wouldn’t get into Liverpool’s team ahead of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, such is their standing in the world game, and spending that sort of money on a squad player makes little sense.

On top of that, Traore’s former Wolves teammate Diogo Jota has already come in as an exciting squad option, further highlighting why the ex-Barcelona man isn’t needed.

Should one of Salah or Mane leave in the future the situation may change, but even then, I think Liverpool need to be signing a superior replacement.

The likes of [Kylian Mbappe](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/300713/History/Kylian-Mbapp%C3%A9) (53) or [Jadon Sancho](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/346300/History/Jadon-Sancho) (29) stand out as big-money, big-name options, scoring 82 league goals between them since the start of 2018/19, compared with Traore’s tally of just five.
