# Klopp interested in Swansea striker

Jurgen Klopp is set to reignite his interest in Ghanian striker Andre Ayew, [reports Tom Hodgkinson in the Sunday People](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-keeping-tabs-andre-ayew-6610576).

The new Liverpool manager [was linked with a swoop](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/557891/Liverpool-Everton-Newcastle-Borussia-Dortmund-Marseille-Ghana-Andre-Ayew-Pre-Deals) for the 25-year-old whilst in charge of Borussia Dortmund, but the former Marseille forward moved to Swansea City in the summer.

Ayew has made a great start to his Premier League career, scoring four goals in eight games, including strikes against Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.

The Sunday People claim that Klopp will monitor his progress before making a decision as to whether he will attempt to bring him to Liverpool.

The Reds already have four recognised strikers at the club in Christian Benteke, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi – and Klopp played with just one striker for the most part during his time at the Westfalenstadion.

[It has been reported](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2015/10/10/klopp-wants-lewandowski-anfield/) that Robert Lewandowski could be a potential target for Liverpool, but Ayew may represent a more realistic option.
