# Klopp makes brilliant dig at Man City’s “tactical fouls”

The mind games are now well underway ahead of Liverpool’s huge Premier League clash with Manchester City this weekend.

The Reds will go into Sunday’s game six points clear of their title rivals, with victory proving to be priceless at Anfield, it it happens.

While relations between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have been healthy in the past, there are signs that that is starting to change.

Guardiola needlessly had a dig at Sadio Mane’s apparent diving antics at the weekend and now Klopp has retaliated.

[Speaking](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/11/i-promise-not-to-mention-tactical-fouls-jurgen-klopps-unique-take-on-mind-games-with-pep-guardiola/) to the media on Monday, the Liverpool boss highlighted City’s tactical fouls during matches, perhaps putting it in the mind of referee Michael Oliver:

> I am not too sure if I want to put oil on the fire. I am not interested in these kind of things – and I promise not to mention tactical fouls.

> That is maybe already too much, but that is the only thing I say about it!

This brings back memories of Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger in the 1990s and 2000s, when Manchester United and Arsenal were at loggerheads in the Premier League.

It is clear that a potential storm is brewing ahead of the biggest match of the season so far.

Klopp is not one for mind games, but even he couldn’t avoid a little dig back at Guardiola, following his needless remarks.
